My name is Sam and I am a Type 1 Diabetic. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at fifteen years old, and have always taken my health and management of this chronic disease seriously. It is tough to try to live your life between high and low blood sugar levels. They can affect what and when you have to eat, when you can workout, and more. Exercise has been a constant part of my life since I was diagnosed because it helps me maintain more level blood sugar. Even though I have exercised very consistently for seventeen years, I have struggled for the last eight years to find a sustainable diet as a busy life with three kids and a sedentary job started to catch up with me. Before starting this challenge, I felt like I had become the poster child for the saying, “you can’t out train a bad diet.”
When my wife and I started this challenge seven weeks ago, I didn’t change any of my daily exercise habits. The only thing that changed was eating from the Clean Simple Eats Meal Plan and sticking to it. I am amazed at the transformation I have experienced from this sustainable outline and guide for eating and snacking. I have also experienced even better management of my diabetes. I feel like all of the good healthy habits were in place in my life EXCEPT what and how much I ate. CSE has been awesome! Thank you!
