“First off, WOW, thank you @cleansimpleeats!! This challenge has been incredible for me. I've never stuck to a meal plan and a consistent workout schedule in my life. This past 8 weeks has given me a glimpse of my potential when I am more adamant about my health.
I have always loved to be active and spend time outside doing things like hiking, fishing, working out, or just playing sports. I've never stopped doing those things, but the past few years I've gradually been gaining weight and those activities would wear me out a little faster than before. Finally, right when my wife @twholesoulfitness and I moved to North Carolina in August of 2018, it hit me that I had let myself go. I weighed 220 pounds, the most I've ever weighed, and hardly fit into any of my clothes. I would never have energy to do anything after I got off work and I would make excuses to avoid the gym. That's when I knew I needed to make a change.
I started following Clean Simple Eats meal planning books and working out more consistently. Things were going good, but it wasn't until this spring challenge that my wife talked me into submitting pictures and I began taking it more seriously. I finally started being more intentional by tracking my macros and eating in a calorie deficit. That, plus my competitive nature, made me want to see where I could end up in 8 weeks.Staying on track has made all the difference and the weight seemed to be falling off. Eating right, sticking with it, and giving it my all has made such a big impact on my life. I have more energy and drive to take care of myself so I can live the active lifestyle that I love.
