CSE Challenge Approved Drinks

Boring drinks? Not our style. As much as I recommend drinking half your body weight in ounces of water each day of the challenge, I understand it’s fun to mix it up. When choosing a beverage, avoid drinks that contain artificial sweeteners and flavors or high sugar and calorie content. From Caramel Mocha Protein Hot Chocolate to a Peach Berry Energy Drink, there's a drink for everyone! 😉 Here are a few of our favorite CSE approved drinks.

A lot of people ask about what drinks are approved and if you can still enjoy coffee and creamers, and the answer is “YES! Caramel Mocha Protein Hot Chocolate

Makes 1 serving

225 calories / 11F / 15C / 24.5P



1. Pour the almond milk into a mug and microwave for 2 minutes or until hot.

2. Add the Almond Mocha butter and cacao powder. Whisk until smooth. Add the protein powder and whisk until smooth and creamy. Top with spray whipped cream topping if desired.

Spiced White Hot Chocolate

Makes 1 serving
250 calories / 7F / 27.5C / 19P


  • 4 Tbs. spray whipped cream
  • Walden Farms caramel syrup, optional garnish

1. In a small pot, combine milk, vanilla extract, and pumpkin pie spice. Whisk over medium/high heat until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and whisk in the white chocolate chips and protein powder. Stir until completely melted.

2. Pour into a cup and top with whipped cream, a drizzle of caramel
syrup and a dusting of pumpkin pie spice.

Peach Berry Energy Drink

Makes 1 serving
110 calories / 2F / 17C / 6P

1. Add all ingredients to a high powered blender. Blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Iced Coffee or Iced Crio Bru


  • 1/2 cup Crio Bru Concentrate (recipe below) or brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 Tbs. canned full-fat coconut milk (shake before using)
  • 2 tsp. organic coconut sugar 
  • Ice

1. Shake Crio Concentrate. Add all ingredients to a jar and shake until sugar is dissolved. 
2. Pour into a glass full of ice. Enjoy cold with a straw 😍

Crio Bru Concentrate



1. Add to a saucepan and bring to a light boil. Simmer for ten minutes. Stir and simmer an additional two minutes.
2. Let cool slightly then drain the grounds by running it through a coffee filter, strainer or using a French press. Pour the liquid into an airtight container and store in the fridge. Throw out the leftover grounds. It should make about 24 ounces of Crio Bru Concentrate. 

Lime Rickey 

Makes 1 serving

7 calories 

  • 16-24 oz. cold water
  • 1 lime, juice of
  • 1 dropper full vanilla liquid stevia
  • Ice cubes 

1. Add all of the ingredients to a large cup or water bottle. Mix and enjoy!

CSE Italian Soda 


  • 1 can La Croix, any flavor (I use Cran Raspberry)

  • 1 True Lemon drink mix stick, any flavor

  • 2 Tablespoons lite canned coconut milk

  • Spray whipped cream, optional


1. Add 4-6 ice cubes to a 16 oz. cup. Sprinkle in the True Lemon drink mix then pour the La Croix over the top. It tends to foam A LOT, so pour it in a little at a time and stir with a straw to get the fizz to settle.

2. Add in the coconut milk and top with spray whipped cream. Enjoy!

...especially with fresh lemon or lime juice and a dropper full of French Vanilla Stevia Liquid Extract (I get mine from Whole Foods). We like any brand, including but not limited to: La Croix, Perrier, Pellegrino, Honest, Hint, Polar, Dasani)
