CONGRATS, HILARY!
I’ve started several Clean Simple Eats challenges and finished a few. I’ve also tried many other “diets” over the past 8 years. I’ve had a huge mindset problem in the past. I am usually an “all-or-nothing” type person. I can follow a strict diet consistently for a specific length of time, but then once it’s over, I quickly revert back to old habits and lose any progress I made. I feel like my change in mindset this time around is my biggest accomplishment. I know that I will not reach my goals in seven weeks. It’s going to take consistent, long-term efforts. So even though the challenge is ending, I’m really looking forward to continuing the good eating habits I’ve been developing. I think I have finally made the mindset shift from “diet” to “lifestyle.”
It can be discouraging to see how much weight other people lose in just seven weeks, when my progress comes much more slowly. But I’ve focused on my non-scale victories, and that has been so motivating to continue. It only takes a couple weeks of eating the CSE way for my bloating to disappear. And I feel SO much better! My clothes fit better. I can see a difference in my face. And the food is delicious! I feel like I can eat a piece of cake on a family member’s birthday and just adjust my other meals that day to make it work. I don’t have to throw in the towel just because I eat off-plan occasionally. I’m excited to see where I am this time next year.
