My story started three years ago when I stumbled upon CSE; I decided to start a challenge and had some success. CSE has been a staple in my family’s life for the last three years; we reference the meal plans and use them on a regular basis as part of our weekly meal planning, thanks to my wife.
But with success comes challenges, and sometimes old habits start to creep back. In my case, it happened and I found myself almost back to where I started three years ago–out of shape and feeling down about having lost what I worked so hard to gain. Then, early this May 2023, life threw me and my family a curveball.
I experienced a heart attack and life got real–real fast. Three arteries were 90%+ blocked. I had to make a decision to change my habits. I had to change my diet again, but this time it had to be for good because if I don’t, I probably won’t be around to see my kids grow up. So, in early May my family got back on the train incorporating CSE meals on a more regular basis, and a Mediterranean-type diet in the mix of daily lifestyle.
No one said life would be easy; we can choose who and what we want to become. I heard a saying not too long ago, “Choose your hard.” Meaning I can choose to exercise, eat right, and stay away from the chocolate chip cookies (which is hard), and hopefully live a life of longevity. Or, I could not exercise, eat unhealthy, and eat all the cookies in the jar, but live in misery, overweight, not happy and have a HARD (and possibly shorter) life.
That was the life I was living before I made the decision to change. CSE has made it possible to help me and my family have a healthier lifestyle, and just maybe live a little bit longer! Be the best you can be in the moment and success will follow!
