I started the Clean Simple Eats Fall Challenge to lose some extra baby weight, but I had no idea how much it would help restore my mental health. I used to cope with my mental illness by eating comfort foods that were not nutritious and left me feeling worse afterward. I got to the point where most of the things I put in my body were not healthy. I would eat a cookie, feel guilty about eating, get down on myself, and eat another cookie to make myself feel better. This vicious cycle would happen so often that I wondered if I could ever break it. CSE to the rescue!
Fueling my body with the right nutrients and the right amount of food has made me feel amazing! I haven’t been this happy in a really long time. I feel like I’ve become a better and happier wife and mom. I have way more energy than I did before and I didn’t have an ounce of caffeine throughout the whole challenge. (Before the Fall Challenge I would drink 2 diet sodas a day and still be stuck on the couch in an afternoon slump or would have to take a nap.)
The CSE recipes are so delicious and I feel so satisfied and healthy after eating each snack and meal! I never thought eating clean could taste so good. I am so excited that I have finally found a lifestyle change that works for me and I can truly see myself eating like this for the rest of my life. I feel so much better emotionally, mentally and physically, and losing weight and fitting into my old clothes is an added bonus!
