We at Clean Simple Eats, LLC are strongly committed to protecting your privacy and providing a safe experience for all of our Users while offering a high-quality user experience for the Clean Simple Eats + App (“CSE+” or “the App”). We know that you care about how the information you provide to us is used and shared. We have developed this Privacy Policy to inform you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Information we receive from users of the App. Clean Simple Eats, LLC (the “Company”) operates the App.
This Privacy Policy, along with our Term of Service, govern your use of the App. If you choose to use the App, then you agree to these Terms of Service and the use of the information below as described in this Privacy Policy. You agree that you are over 18.
Information Collection and Use:
When you download and use the App, we will learn certain information about your use of the App, and through any requests, reviews, or complaints that you voluntarily provide to us, may learn certain information about you.
Consistent with our previous practices, we will only collect and process your personal data when we have a lawful basis for doing so. These lawful bases include when you provide us consent, when we have a contractual obligation to collect or process the data, and when we have a legitimate interest in processing your personal data.
We may collect and/or receive the following types of information from you:
Information Provided Voluntarily Personal, Order & Billing Information.When you subscribe to the free, or paid version of the App, we collect your name (first and last), email, and phone number. We also are provided with your level of subscription.
We are not provided with your payment information when you subscribe to the free or paid version of the App through either the App Store or Google Play.
However, this data may be collected separately by this or any other platforms where the App is available.
These and other third-party vendors who assist us in the distribution of the App will be doing so pursuant to their own terms and conditions, including privacy policies and terms of use. Please understand we are not responsible for their policies or terms of use and we recommend that you review these at the point of purchase, prior to checkout, if you have any concerns or questions.
As a reminder, because we do not collect payment information directly related to your subscription to the App, for any refund requests related to the App Store you must contact the App store directly. For any refund requests related to Google Play, you may contact us, in accordance with the Terms of Service, and while we can issue a “blind” refund, we do not have access to your payment information.
Purchases Inside of the App:
For any in-App purchases through our Shopify store, the following information is collected in order to transact the purchase:
- Your credit card information and billing address (both encrypted)
- Your shipping address for delivery of the product or products
Of this information, we receive your shipping address, which is tied to your user account.
You may pay for in-App purchases using ShopPay (Shopify’s payment processor), PayPal or Google Pay. All are encrypted and protected processing options.
Your Personal Information Entered Into the App
If you are utilizing the App to set weight, macro and workout goals, we do collect some key information from you to support your health journey, including your:
- Gender
- Age
- Weight
- Height
We utilize this data to support your goals and tracking within the App. This data is also reviewed in aggregate to improve our services and make informed business decisions.
We otherwise do not access, collect, or retain any of the information, personal or otherwise, that you may enter into the App, including your notes, pictures, or other content stored on your device or in the cloud. Any photos entered into the Progress Journal are encrypted for your protection.
While we do collect usage data which helps us to understand how our users use the App, we do not collect any data related directly to your calendar, camera, contacts, microphone, sensors, sms, or storage on your device. While you can use your microphone feature to help enter data into the App, and use your device to upload photos into your journal (or download them again), we do not separately access or store this information.
If you submit a request or complaint to us via the App, or via our website, we would have access to this specific user data, including personal data if you provide it; otherwise we are not interested in collecting user specific data outside of what is detailed below.
Personal Information provided through CHALLENGE RELATED SUBMISSIONS: If you decide to participate in the Challenge through the App, you may submit, and we may collect, the following types of information as part of your voluntary participation in the Challenge:
- Before and after measurements as either required or permitted within the Challenge;
- Before and after photos as either required or permitted within the Challenge;
- Any other information relevant to your Challenge experience that is collected within the Challenge
You represent that your participation in the Challenge is voluntary, and that you agree that any of your information submitted as part of the Challenge may be published or shared by the Company, including if you are selected as a winner.
Information Collected Automatically. The information that we do collect largely falls into the category of log data, specifically in regards to your use of the App, as follows:
Activity Info (Log Data):
There is a certain amount of log (usage data) that we collect related to your use of the App, including your IP address, IDFA, IDFV, GPS ADID, Android ID, as well as your device make, model and operating system.
Usage data also includes access dates and times; the configuration or version of the App when utilizing it, country location, network type, and other related data including download data (i.e. how many people download the App).
This data is generally reviewed in aggregate, to look at usage and performance metrics, and not at any individual user’s specific use.
(Web-Based App) Use of Cookies. Our App may use cookies in order to deliver a better experience for you. Cookies are files with small amounts of data that a website stores on your device’s internal memory so that certain information about your visit and use will be recognized upon a return visit.
We do not use cookies explicitly in our App, however, the App may use third-party code and libraries that use cookies to collect information and improve their services. We will try to accommodate any requests related to the management of Personal Information in a timely manner. How We Use and Share the Information:
We use the collected Information to understand customer needs, including regarding our App related services to:
