Our Spring 2022 Challenge Winner, Kay!

CONGRATS, KAY!

I’ve always wanted to be one of those people who can post an amazing side by side photo showing how much weight they’ve lost; and while I do see physical changes in these photos that I am proud of, what I am most proud of is the internal changes that occurred during these past seven weeks.

In the last four years, having four kids and being diagnosed with a thyroid autoimmune disease, I have let my health fall to the bottom of my priorities. Because of that, I developed an unhealthy relationship with food, turning to sugary sweets and sodas to bring me happiness and drinking caffeine nonstop to have energy. Starting this challenge and cutting out treats and soda, I was shocked to see that I actually have way more energy not drinking caffeine and I don’t have the usual evening fog I would get from eating dessert after dinner every night.

My husband and I joined the challenge together and have had so much fun trying out new dinner recipes and protein shakes. We no longer argue over which fast food we are getting for dinner ;) and have been able to cheer for each other on days where we wanted to fall back into old habits.

Tracking macros was new to me and I was embarrassed to learn how many grams of sugar I had been consuming in a day. Now through CSE, I have learned how to fuel my body! I’m rebuilding a healthy relationship with food and learning to love working out again.

This may sound cliché, but this challenge has changed my life for the better and started me on a journey to a healthier me–both physically and mentally. I just set a new goal and signed up for a sprint triathlon this fall. The old me would never believe Kay would even consider such a challenge, but thanks to CSE, I know I can reach this goal!!
