Each season, we host a community based health & fitness challenge. Your 'entry' ticket to the CSEChallenge is that season’s meal plan purchase. You’ll go through the challenge with thousands of other members of our community! Every week within the #CSEChallenge we roll out a new (optional) weekly Instagram challenge to help you stay motivated and be entered to win prizes. At the end of challenge, there is one grand prize winner chosen for “biggest overall transformation.” Our Grand Prize for the Spring 2019 challenge: a Hawaii Vacation for two! It includes a 5-day, 4-night stay in Oahu sponsored by our friends at Kalilei Vacations, and $1,000 cash for traveling expenses.
To enter the Spring 2019 CSE Challenge:
Purchase a copy of a CSE Meal Plan (hard copy, digital copy, or "Just The New Stuff" digital copy) on, or after, March 6th, 2019. Before/after pictures must be submitted; before pictures must be date stamped on/after March 18th (more details at cleansimpleeats.com/before), and after pictures must be date stamped on May 12th or 13th, and submitted alongside before pictures with a completed questionnaire at cleansimpleeats.com/after on May 12th or 13th. One male and one female winner will be chosen based on overall transformation, and chosen by the Clean Simple Eats team. Void where prohibited

+ IS THIS SEASON'S MEAL PLAN DIFFERENT FROM LAST SEASON'S MEAL PLAN?
Yes! Each season's meal plan is 100% different and unique compared to the previous (or next) season.
+ WHAT TYPES OF INGREDIENTS / FOODS ARE INCLUDED IN THE CSE MEAL PLAN?
The meal plan follows the "clean eating" guidelines. Fruits & veggies, lean meats, eggs, fish, whole grains, dairy, nuts and seeds plus some "treat" items.
We have balanced the macronutrients in each meal to reach a 40% carbohydrate, 30% fat & 30% protein split. All macronutrient totals are included with each recipe as well as pre-loaded to My Fitness Pal app for those of you tracking your macros. The recipes are delicious and very practical, you will find yourself going back to them again and again even after the challenge is over.
+ WHERE DO YOU PURCHASE YOUR GROCERIES?
We purchase our groceries from bulk stores from Costco, regular grocery stores like Harmon's & Sprouts. If you have questions about a specific item, post in the Clean Simple Eats Challenge Facebook Group. We have also created a guide HERE so you can shop the "hard to find" ingredients.
+ CAN I TRACK MACROS WITH YOUR MEAL PLAN?
Yes! All of the macronutrient information has been added to the My Fitness Pal app (search your phone's app store to download the app) for each recipe. Search "Clean Simple Eats" and the recipe name and simply add it to your dairy in My Fitness Pal. You may need to alter your last snack of the day to meet your custom macros given to you by your coach.
+ HOW MANY SERVINGS DOES EACH OF THE RECIPES MAKE?
MOST of the recipes in the meal plan make 4 servings (with the exception of some breakfasts and some snacks). If you are cooking for a family like I am, double each shopping list and recipe to make 8 servings. If you are single and cooking for one, half each recipe to make 2 servings, or you can eat the same entree 4 lunches & dinner in a row.
+ HOW MUCH DO WEEKLY GROCERIES COST?
This will differ from person to person depending on which ingredients you already have on hand, how many you are shopping for, where you shop and if you shop organic. Unfortunately, we cannot put a set number on the weekly grocery budget. Like mentioned above, items are found at regular grocery stores such as Costco, Harmon's & Sprouts. If you live near an Aldi, most groceries are avaialble there as well.
+ IS THIS MEAL PLAN RIGHT FOR ME / CAN I ALSO DO THIS WITH MY HUSBAND?
This meal plan covers everyone! Inside the front of each plan (and in the app) you'll see there are calorie options ranging from 1500-3000 and a calculator to help you know where you should be! The layout on this plan helps anyone on any level achieve their goals. + HOW CAN I SEE WHAT MEALS ARE INCLUDED?
When you click on the meal plan, you'll see an index of all recipes included.
+ IS THIS SEASON'S MEAL PLAN DIFFERENT FROM LAST YEAR (SAME SEASON)'S MEAL PLAN?
Most of the recipes are the same from the same season, year to year, are the same. We always add a handful of new recipes. If you would like JUST the new recipes from the previous year, you can purchase a digital version of "Just The New Stuff." If you would like to participate in the challenge and be eligible for prizes, you will still need to purchase a copy of "Just The New Stuff".
+ HOW MANY MEALS PER DAY DOES THIS MEAL PLAN INCLUDE?
Each day of the meal plan includes 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks a day.
+ ARE THE MEALS GLUTEN / NUT FREE?
No, but gluten is easily substituted out, and there are very few recipes with nuts.
+ WILL I KNOW HOW MANY CALORIES TO EAT?
We recommend using our Clean Simple Eats phone app to calculate how many calories you should be eating. Search your phone's app store for "Clean Simple Eats" and follow the instructions
+ CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING?
Yes! There have been many mamas out there who have found success with my meal plans while pregnant or nursing. We recommend if you're pregnant or nursing, to read this post here.
+ CAN I BUY THE MEAL PLAN WITHOUT BEING A PART OF THE CHALLENGE?
Absolutely! This meal plan doubles as a great cookbook or recipe guide and can be used however you'd like.
+ HOW DO I KNOW HOW MANY CALORIES TO EAT?
You can download our app! Search for Clean Simple Eats in your iphone app store or CLICK HERE to download it.
+ FOR "JUST THE NEW STUFF": IS IT TRUE THE FULL BOOKS (DIGITAL & PHYSICAL) HAVE THE NEW RECIPES INCLUDED IN "JUST THE NEW STUFF"?
A: Correct! You don't need to purchase the “Just the New Stuff” if you're purchasing a full digital or physical copy, because all the recipes in "Just the New Stuff" will be included in the full digital AND physical meal plans. Your options are:
- Purchase JUST the digital copy and it will have 90 recipes (including the new recipes)
- Purchase JUST physical copy and it will have 90 recipes (including the new recipes)
- If you have the plan from last year, purchase the new recipes separately in a digital version of "Just The New Stuff".
+ CAN I BUY THE WORKOUTS AND MEAL PLANS SEPARATE?

+ DO I NEED EQUIPMENT OR A GYM MEMBERSHIP FOR THE WORKOUTS IN THE MEAL PLAN?
For the advanced workouts in the plan, you will need a Kettle Bell, a Wall Ball and a mat. The beginner workouts are body weight only. Click here to see the products we recommend.
+ ARE THE WORKOUTS REQUIRED DURING THE CHALLENGE?
No. We have included workouts for your convenience. You are welcome to do any exercise that you enjoy during the challenge. Our goal is to help you with your transformation.
+ HOW LONG ARE THE WORKOUTS? AND ARE THEY DAILY?
They are each about 30 minutes. There's 1 week of workouts total. There is a beginner and advanced option for each day of the week. Each Monday for 6 weeks you'll do the Monday workout of the day, each Tuesday you'll do the Tuesday workout of the day...etc.

+ WHAT ARE THE CHALLENGE WEEKLY PRIZES?
We’ll let you know at the beginning of each week what that week’s challenge is. Some of the prizes that will be up for grabs. Past weekly prizes have included:

+ DO I HAVE TO DO THE ENTIRE #CSECHALLENGE?
You can participate in as much or as little of the challenge as you would like! We understand that not everyone is in it to win the Grand Prize, which is why we offer weekly challenges and we’ll choose weekly challenge winners.
+ WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO TO WIN THE GRAND PRIZE?
To qualify for the grand prize, you must submit your time stamped before and after pictures. Our goal is your transformation. We’re certain that if you follow the meal plan, you’ll get results.
+ CAN MY HUSBAND AND I SHARE ONE MEAL PLAN AND BE ELIGIBLE TO WIN PRIZES?
Yes! As long as you have the same last name and live under the same roof. You will just need to provide us with the email and name that the plan was purchased under.
+ CAN I PARTICIPATE IN THE CHALLENGE WHILE PREGNANT OR NURSING?
Yes! There have been many mamas out there who have found success with my meal plans while pregnant or nursing. I would recommend eating at your maintenance or TDEE calories while pregnant. I would recommend adding 500 calories per day if you are breastfeeding. There is a formula at the front of each meal plan that will help you calculate how much you should be eating to reach your goals. Find your goal then add the extra calories onto that. Of course, I recommend asking your doctor about using my meal plans if you have any concerns at all. Also, make sure you listen to your body because you are growing/providing nourishment to a human being. If you feel like you are being underfed, please add calories.
