Our Fall 2020 Winner, Erica!
I've tried so many "diets" in the past 10 years including keto, paleo, and even that lemon water cleanse. They were also restrictive that it wasn't sustainable for me long term. My sisters recommended clean simple eats and I joined challenge in 2019, and although I was thrilled with my results, I went right back to eating junk the day after I took my "after" pictures. Add in the stress of daily life and a global pandemic and I was right back to where I started. This challenge I wanted to do it differently. Teaming up with someone made it so much easier mentally, and I tried not to put the pressure on myself that I did on the first one. The first week of the challenge we were encouraged to come up with a theme or mantra for these 6 weeks, and I decided "be kind" best exemplified that. Instead of the "competition" mindset, I adapted the "challenge" mindset. This was about me and MY health. The end of this challenge is so different from my first one. I feel that this really is sustainable and I don't have the desire to go back to my old way of eating and living. I feel so much better! I feel like the way I look on the outside matches how I feel on the inside. My mood has improved, that low-level tummy ache I always had is gone, I have more energy, and even my skin has cleared up. Thank you for making meal plans that are simple, delicious, and easy to understand. I don't feel restricted, I don't feel like I'm "dieting", I feel like I'm learning what food is and should do for my body.
I did strength and cardio workouts consistently over the weeks of the challenge. I focused on getting the most out of 1 workout a day, rather than giving half efforts for sever workouts a day. I participated in high fitness, orangetheory, and some of JJ's workouts/workout Wednesdays.
